Description of the attraction
The Atakule Observation Tower, located in the very center of Ankara, is one of the most modern and more than impressive structures in this city. It is impossible not to notice this tower while walking around the capital of Turkey, in clear weather it is clearly visible from almost anywhere in the city, since its height reaches 125 meters.
This original building was designed by the renowned Turkish architect Rejib Iuluk. The construction of the tower lasted for four years - from 1986 to 1989. It is located in the Kankaya area. Translated from Turkish "Ata" means grandfather, and "kule" means a tower or a tower. Those who want to see the surrounding area from a bird's eye view should definitely climb to the open terrace located at the top of the tower. From the top of Atakule, you can see the entire city in its full scale, and if you take good binoculars, then even to the smallest details.
Atakule rises 118.2 meters above sea level. At a height of 115.6 meters, there is a multipurpose room where you can drink cocktails with an area of 600 m2, you can also install audio and hearing equipment here (in case of weddings, seminars, conferences, etc.). At the base of the Atakule Tower there are several restaurants with outdoor areas. One of the novelties is the Sevilla restaurant, located at an altitude of 111.8 meters. A sort of Spain in the middle of the Turkish capital, and even at such a height. This restaurant is more famous, one might even say famous. It is renowned for its exquisite cuisine. The platform on which the restaurant is located, revolving around the axis of the tower, makes exactly one full revolution in one hour, thereby giving its visitors the opportunity to enjoy contemplating the full panorama of the city during their meal. Another restaurant has the name "Dome", which actually speaks for itself, as it is located right on the very dome of the observation tower. A little below it, at an altitude of 99.8 meters, there are numerous cafes, a spacious Tansash shopping center and a cozy modern cinema. The tower contains many shops, and you can also visit the outdoor terrace located at the top of the tower at a height of 103.8 meters. From this platform, tourists enjoy the beautiful views of Ankara from a bird's eye view.
