Description of the attraction

Koskinou is a picturesque resort village on the east coast of Rhodes. It is located about 7 km from the capital of the island of the same name and 8 km from the popular resort of Faliraki. It is believed that the name of the settlement comes from the Greek word "koskino", which means "sieve", the manufacture of which was once the main occupation of local residents.

Koskinu can be conditionally divided into two parts - the old city, located at some distance from the coast (about 2-2.5 km), and the new coastal region. The tourist infrastructure of Koskinu is concentrated mainly in the modern part of the settlement. There are also many excellent hotels and comfortable apartments.

The historic center of Koskinou is an authentic Greek settlement with labyrinths of narrow cobbled streets, old churches and traditional flower-filled houses with colorful facades and ceramic decorations. Among the sights of Koskinu, it is worth noting the so-called "Traditional House", the old interior of which perfectly illustrates the life and culture of this area. On the central square there is a very beautiful church built in 1873 and deserves special attention. Koskinu is famous for its numerous cozy restaurants and taverns, where you can relax and enjoy excellent cuisine and excellent wine.

Koskinou has an excellent sandy beach equipped with sun umbrellas and sun loungers. There are also some good taverns and snack bars on the beach. Excellent opportunities are offered by Koskinu and fans of water sports.

Today the resort village of Koskinou is considered one of the most popular places for family holidays on the island of Rhodes.
