For a long time, the northern regions of the European part of Russia remained uninteresting for tourists. More popular than excursions in Karelia were tourist trips around the region. In the list of leaders of urban tourism from the settlements of the Karelian Territory, Petrozavodsk is naturally in first place. The city, which has a long history and has preserved many architectural monuments, reveals itself upon closer acquaintance with different sides.

There are various options for traveling around the city - walks in the historical center with a guided tour, walking and by car, which allow you to cover a large territory, respectively, to show more local attractions. Moving to Nikonovskaya Bay, an excursion route with the beautiful name "New Jerusalem" - the Resurrection and Gethsemane sketes, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a masterpiece of wooden architecture, an observation deck located on the Mount of Olives.

The beauty of Karelian nature

The third place in the list of excursions is occupied by tourist routes to the natural attractions of the Karelian region. On the territory of the region there are the famous Marble Canyon, the Ruskeala mountain park, the Underground Lake, and the most beautiful waterfalls. The cost of such a trip as part of an excursion group is: for an adult tourist - about 1,900 rubles; schoolchild - 1 600 rubles; preschoolers - 1,400 rubles (on average).

Individual excursions are also possible, the price is slightly higher, depending on the number of people in the group, whether it is necessary to be accompanied by a guide, or whether an independent acquaintance with the region is expected.
