Should you look for sights in the metropolis or go closer to the famous hill with the letters Hollywood, try to make your own film about the city of angels, or enjoy the film masterpieces already awarded the famous Oscars? Los Angeles is always different and bright, colorful and unique, it is at the intersection of cultures and times. The city as if invites you to go on a fascinating journey through the world and history, without leaving, as they say, "from the box office."

City of Angels Districts

Los Angeles has widely spread its neighborhoods on the Pacific coast, the metropolis is divided into separate districts, occupying vast territories. Not all areas are equally interesting for tourists, although each of them has its own unique landscapes, monuments or amazing corners.

Downtown is located in the center of the city; it is easy to recognize it by its fashionable hotels, sky-scraper skyscrapers and large shopping and entertainment complexes. Santa Monica is becoming the ultimate dream of those tourists who prefer to admire the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the azure sky, merging with the ocean waves on local beaches, to historical attractions. Here on the coast you can find many nightclubs, restaurants, attractions.

To meet celebrities, you need to go to the Beverly Hills area, which the older generation remembers from the famous youth television series. Now there is an opportunity in reality to see chic villas, boutiques, shops, and, perhaps, wave a pen to some film star or Oscar winner.

Even more chances to meet them in stellar Hollywood, especially during the ceremony of presenting the famous statuettes. At other times, you can go to the Avenue of Stars or the Walk of Fame to admire the footprints (in the literal sense) left here by the movie stars.

The last, but not the cheapest, but on the contrary, the most expensive area of Los Angeles is Malibu. It is also famous for its gorgeous beaches, which are familiar to any movie lover from films, but all this indescribable beauty looks even better in reality.

What to visit in Los Angeles from the malls?

Los Angeles is a city that is connected by thousands of threads to the world of cinema, like many of its cultural attractions, and even place names. Any tourist will be interested in visiting the most famous alleys of the metropolis:

  • Avenue of Stars, where the tradition of laying commemorative signs in honor of brilliant actors, directors, musicians and television figures has been held for more than fifty years;
  • The Walk of Fame, located in the courtyard of the Grauman Theater.

The first alley stretches for 18 blocks, so it will be very difficult to find a memorial sign in honor of your favorite actress or director. You just need to walk along it, joyfully exclaiming at the sight of familiar names and remembering the trace that they left in the history of world culture.

The Walk of Fame is much more modest, as traces are left by living filmmakers. There is also an interesting legend associated with the appearance of such a place in Los Angeles. The first actress to literally leave a mark was Norma Tolmadge. It turned out by chance, she was in a hurry to rehearsal and did not notice the construction work being carried out in the courtyard. The idea was picked up by Sid Grauman, it is still alive today, and this is another place that is the answer to the question of what to visit in Los Angeles on your own.

Filming a movie

The main attraction of Los Angeles was, is and remains Hollywood. It beckons tourists like the light of a lamp of butterflies and moths, who does not dream of touching the world of art, looking on the other side of the screen, and, perhaps, suddenly, by chance, become the hero of an episode. So that later, many years later, to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren to prove that the grandfather was a star and even starred in the world blockbuster.

The first point (or rather, the line) of the route is the Avenue of Stars, which you can walk along endlessly. The next interesting event for tourists is a visit to the Wax Museum, it is clear that here you cannot do without Angelina Jolie, William Bradley Pitt (known as Brad Pitt) and their colleagues in the acting workshop. Grauman's Chinese Theater is another important point of the walk around Hollywood, and the Walk of Fame is associated with it. And the theater itself is a very attractive place.

And at the end of the journey, you need to find a good point to film against the background of the famous letters. The inscription is visible from almost anywhere in Los Angeles, but the most beautiful photographs are obtained when the location is set in Griffith Park. By the way, getting closer to the letters will not work, it is prohibited by American laws.
