They say that the first beer in Spain appeared long before the onset of a new era, but then the foamy drink supplanted the wine, which the Spaniards love and know how to make. Epochs passed and only in the 16th century they returned to the beer issue and built the first brewery, whose intoxicating product was delivered to the table of the royal family. For a long time, beer remained the drink of the nobility, and only at the beginning of the 18th century it began to be brewed throughout the country.
A legend that has survived for centuries
One of the oldest Spanish beer brands, San Miguel 1516, has existed since the early 16th century. This variety is still produced using traditional methods and is one of the most beloved among the Spaniards. The choice is clear
The assortment of beer produced in Spain is inferior to wine, but even advanced tasters will be able to choose a drink to their liking from the proposed varieties:
- Truly Spanish flavor is present in the Damm Inedit beer, which was created with the participation of the famous sommelier El Bulli. It is also customary to order Cruz Campo Gran Reserva 1904 in restaurants in Madrid and Barcelona. Even the name of this variety hints at its excellent quality. The alcohol content in beer does not exceed 6, 4. At the same time, the intense, but balanced taste allows the drink to adequately accompany many dishes of Spanish cuisine.
