A Vietnamese seaside vacation is recommended for both adults and children. The local beaches are covered with soft and clean sand, have a gentle entrance into the water and on most of them strong waves rarely occur and only at certain periods. You can choose a vacation spot to your liking at several resorts:

  • Phu Quoc Island boasts the whitest sand and classic landscapes with azure skies merging on the horizon with the turquoise waves of the sea.
  • Phan Thiet is preferred by fans of surfing and secluded relaxation.
  • Da Nang offers the most developed tourist infrastructure in the country and its beaches are most suitable for lovers of outdoor activities and a variety of entertainment.
  • Nha Trang beaches are ideal for family vacations. A gentle entrance to the water will allow even the smallest to swim safely, and the abundance of children's entertainment will make the vacation exciting and educational.

Almost all the beaches of Vietnam are sandy. An exception is the coast in Bi Thuan province, where the beach is covered with colorful pebbles. This area is located a few kilometers from the old capital of the country, Hue. The city is protected by UNESCO as a world heritage of mankind. You can get here by any train from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, or by car along the N14 and N1A highways.

Weather features of a beach holiday in Vietnam

The monsoon climate of the Bi Thuan region guarantees very hot summers, mild autumn and fairly fresh weather in spring. The swimming season is possible almost all year round, but in winter the temperature can drop as low as + 20 ° C. The rainy season in the area of the ancient Vietnamese capital lasts from September to February, and this also casts doubt on the advisability of a winter beach holiday in Vietnam in this region.

Frequent typhoons severely torment the coast of the resort of Nha Trang in October-December, and therefore the optimal period for rest here begins in March and lasts until September. In spring and summer, the air temperature can go far beyond the 30-degree mark, but there are practically no waves and strong winds.

Halong Bay is the most pleasant to visit in April-May and the first half of autumn. You can comfortably sunbathe on the local beaches from mid-spring to the first weeks of November.

The climate in the resort of Mui Ne has a large number of hours of sunshine compared to other regions of the country. It is rainy here in the first half of summer and in September, and strong winds blow in winter, bringing many pleasant hours for surfers. The rest of the time, rest on the beaches of Mui Ne can be considered ideal for ordinary lazy tourists. Columns of thermometers in the air rarely rise above + 30 ° С even during the day, and the water warms up to a comfortable + 27 ° С.

Russian bay

The Nha Trang resort is considered the most Russian in Vietnam. A good half of the local signs are duplicated in Russian, and a significant part of cafes and restaurants already serve pancakes for breakfast and dumplings for lunch.

The beaches of Nha Trang stretch for many kilometers both within the city limits and beyond.

Active sea activities are represented by fishing and diving, boating and jet skis. On land, guests have the opportunity to visit the city's Oceanarium, where at least 300 inhabitants of the South China Sea and other reservoirs of the planet live, and master all the slides of the local water park. Shopaholics will be interested in choosing souvenirs in the Asian market, and gourmets - to appreciate the skill of cooks of authentic cuisine restaurants. There is a casino in Nha Trang, a circus with animals and a carousel in an amusement park.

The most popular excursions from Nha Trang, which will help to significantly diversify a beach vacation in Vietnam and fill it with vivid impressions:

  • The boat trip to the northern islands of Nha Phu Bay includes a visit to an ostrich farm, mango tasting on the plantations and deer riding. In the botanical garden on Orchid Island, you can take unique photos, and on Monkey Island, chat with its inhabitants and watch a performance with the participation of monkeys.
  • Reviews of a cruise to the southern islands of the bay always contain rave epithets. The floating fishing village looks like an exotic curiosity for the Russian tourist, and even the seasoned submariners like the local diving.

In the Nha Trang area there is a mud cure resort and Thap Ba clinic. The high content of mineral salts in the local water and mud can heal many diseases of the joints and skin. Prices for hotels and health tours will pleasantly surprise fans of balneological procedures. In Nha Trang, you can rent a room in any of 400 hotels, and a tourist with absolutely any level of income can choose a worthy option here.

Bay of Magic Islands

Halong Bay is not the most popular beach destination in Vietnam. Usually people come here to admire hundreds of bizarre islands that form a landscape of extraordinary beauty, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage of Humanity.

Rest on the beaches of the Tuan Chau resort near Halong is quite expensive, but on the beaches of Ngoc Vyng and Quan Lan on the islands in the bay, you can settle in an inexpensive guesthouse and enjoy dishes from the freshest seafood supplied to the restaurant table by local fishermen.

The most favorite attractions of tourists in Halong Bay are cruises on the bay, photo sessions against the backdrop of amazing landscapes and night fishing from a boat, if the trip includes an overnight stay on the ship.

The easiest way to get to the resorts of Halong Bay is from Hanoi. The distance is about 150 km.
