Montenegro allows tourists to restore health at an affordable price, admire medieval sights and Orthodox monasteries, relax in national parks, on the Adriatic coast and on the shores of lakes … And the waterfalls of Montenegro deserve special mention.

Montenegrin Niagara Falls

Montenegrin Niagara is formed by the Cievna River and is much more modest in size than its American namesake (this waterfall is also wide, and in addition to the main one has several side streams, but it rushes down from a 10-meter height). Guests will be able to fully enjoy the beauty of Montenegrin Niagara after heavy rains, as well as in March-April. As for dry summer weather, during such periods this waterfall becomes shallower, which makes it less spectacular.

An eco-restaurant "Niagara" has been built nearby to the services of travelers (it is possible that geese, rabbits and other animals will not run next to the tables on the terrace - all of them can be fed and stroked) - here they are treated to national cuisine, mainly fish dishes. In the main hall “Niagara” you can admire an artificial waterfall with a decorative mill and see a swimming pool with river trout swimming there. As for the children, a hut for games is provided for them.

Baylovich Sige waterfall

Its location is the canyon of the Tara River (its temperature, regardless of the season, does not rise above + 12˚C): thanks to the waterfall, clean water flows into the river at a rate of several hundred liters per second (it falls from a 30-meter height from the Butsevitsa cave). In addition to Baylovich Sige, in the park where it is located, there are other waterfall cascades, Orthodox monasteries and ancient Roman burials, as well as recreation centers that warmly welcome all those who come to rest in this area.

And nearby you can find the 5-arched Djurdzhevich Bridge at a height of 170 meters (a monument to an engineer named Lazar Yaukovich is erected in front of the bridge) - walking along it, travelers admire the picturesque views, in particular the Tara River (it is a suitable place for a rafting route; the best time for this pastime, costing from 40 euros - June-September). And there are also conditions for bungee jumping, and you can not only watch the daredevils, but also make extreme jumps down with a belay yourself.

Grlya waterfall

Those who decide to visit this natural object will be able to admire the streams of the Grlya waterfall, falling from a 15-meter height. It is located on the Skakavitsa (Grlya) river. It is worth noting that more than 10 gazebos have been installed near the waterfall, where you can take a break and take shelter from the sudden onset of rain. Some tourists are interested in the vicinity of the waterfall for the opportunity to go mountaineering, but it is recommended to go on a hike that involves descending into the river canyon or climbing Mount Zla-Kolata in the company of a guide.
