Anyone who is in the slightest degree familiar with the geography and history of this Russian region will be able to say without mistakes which characters can honor the coat of arms of Khabarovsk or Vladivostok with their presence. Naturally, these will be representatives of the local fauna kingdom, and the most famous ones.

The heraldic symbol of Khabarovsk is also distinguished by the fact that there are two shields in the image, one of them with supporters is in the center of the other.

Description of the Khabarovsk coat of arms

Color photos or illustrations show a very bright, colorful symbol of the city. In the color palette, in the design of the shield, there are scarlet, silver, azure. They coincide with the colors of the state flag of the Russian Federation and have a deep symbolic meaning. To depict the main characters of the symbol used: gold and black - for the Ussuri tiger; black with silver - for a formidable bear.

The central small shield is topped with a tower crown. The shield itself is golden in color, it is divided by a fork-shaped azure cross. In the lower field, you can see the image of a fish painted in scarlet color.

To the history of the coat of arms of Khabarovsk

Upon closer examination of the first official symbol of the city, approved in February 1912, one can see an undeniable resemblance to the modern coat of arms, or rather, a small shield. The same golden field of the shield, divided by an azure cross, with the scarlet inhabitant of the watery expanses of the region.

Both on the coat of arms of 1912 and on the modern image there is a heraldic symbol of the Primorsky region. Likewise, in both cases, the shield is crowned with a crown. This is where the similarity ends, because on the old coat of arms, framed by a shield, there is a wreath of golden ears, which are intertwined with the Andreevskaya ribbon.

The current heraldic symbol has a more complex composition, two supporters appear - a tiger and a bear, which are located inside a large shield. They act as a kind of defenders and patrons of the main city of the Khabarovsk Territory.

The fork-shaped cross symbolizes the location of Khabarovsk, where the Amur and Ussuri rivers meet. Fish is associated with the main trade, thanks to which the inhabitants of the city survived - fishing.

Also on the coat of arms of the Russian regional center you can see the number "1858", this is the year of Khabarovsk's formation, a kind of hint for local residents and guests.
