Taking a look at the viewpoints of Florence, travelers will have a chance to look at the Basilica of Santa Croce, Palazzo Pitti, Palazzo Strozzi and Spini Ferroni, Boboli Gardens and other objects from a new perspective.
Giotto's bell tower
The ascent to the observation deck of the bell tower of the Duomo Cathedral, which is an example of Florentine Gothic architecture (the height is more than 80 m; the cathedral's facades are decorated with unique 4 and 6-sided medallions), can be done exclusively on foot, overcoming more than 400 steps. Such an effort will be generously rewarded - before the gaze of those who have risen here, Florence will appear, which will be able to be examined from different angles (stationary binoculars are at the guests' disposal). Important information: visiting this attraction + climbing to the viewing platform will cost travelers 6 euros; during religious holidays, access to the bell tower is closed to visitors.
Palazzo Vecchio
The small tower above Palazzo Vecchio is today another lookout point from where you can see the churches of Florence, as well as the tiled roofs and Tuscan hills on the horizon. Visitors should tune in not only to “walk” through the palace, but also to climb the stairs. The cost of a combined ticket, including entry to the various halls of the Palazzo Vecchio and the tower, is 14 euros.
Restaurant "Il Conventino a Marignolle"
Since this restaurant has a panoramic terrace, you can enjoy Tuscan cuisine and views of the picturesque park. Address: Santa Maria a Marignolle 10.
Pitti Palace Observation Deck
Since the Boboli Gardens are adjacent to the Pitti Palace, you should immediately buy tickets to the gardens (ticket price - 7 euros), so as not to stand in line twice at the box office (if you wish, you can buy a complex ticket, costing 11, 5 euros). Travelers love to combine a visit to these two places of interest, because from the observation deck, located here, you can admire the stunning panorama of Florence.
Michelangelo Square
This square (it is built on a hill) is popular due to the panoramic views of the city opening from here - from here you can admire the dome of the Duomo, the channel of the Arno River, and the tiled roofs of city buildings. In the center of the square you can see the statue of David, look into the La Loggia restaurant (Italian dishes and the best panoramic views from the window will await visitors), and to the north of the statue you can find a tourist area with a viewing platform (you should be here at nightfall, when in the city the lights come on).
How to get there? You can get here by buses No. 12 and 13, following from the city center.
Ponte Vecchio bridge
The bridge is popular due to its interesting feature - houses are located on both sides, and in the middle there is a passage and observation platforms, where vacationers go to contemplate the wonderful panorama of the Arno River.
