After reviewing the map, we can conclude that the districts of Haifa divide the city into several parts: the lower part is the business center, the seaside area shelters the port and beaches, and the middle part is the shopping area.

Names and descriptions of the main areas of Haifa

  • Lower City: guests will visit the Railway Museum (those who wish can admire the cars, locomotives, old carriages, see tickets and train schedules dating back to the 19th century), visit the Parus skyscraper, a mosque and a Muslim cemetery from the Ottoman Empire.
  • Bat Galim: known for the Rambam Clinic (achieved high results in virology, neurology, oncology), the Bat Galim beaches (fans of kiteboarding and windsurfing will appreciate; and surfing and diving clubs are also open here) and Hof ha-Shahet (men and women here swim on different days, and the “common” day is Saturday), a cave that acted as a hideout for the Prophet Elijah, burial caves dating back to the 18th century, the National Maritime Museum (guests will see old maps, navigation equipment, a collection of anchors, parts of sunken ships and models of ancient ships; in total there are about 7000 exhibits), a restaurant for vegetarians "Yotvata ba-ir" (the hall is designed for 400 people).
  • Moshava Germanit: travelers will find here cafeterias and restaurants specializing in Mediterranean, Arab, Far Eastern and other cuisines, and attractions in the form of the Haifa Settlement Museum, Templar houses, lower terraces of the Bahai Gardens (you can get here as part of an organized excursion from 09:00 to 17: 00), the City Center shopping complex (has 30 shops and catering establishments), and if necessary, they can contact the information center specially created for tourists in the area.
  • Carmel: is of interest thanks to the Haifa Port Lighthouse, the upper terraces of the Bahai Gardens (you can take pictures of the panorama from the observation deck), the Carmelite Monastery (it is proposed to inspect the library, educational and residential premises, the Stella Maris Church, visit the museum where exhibits from the Crusades period are kept), a concert hall "Auditorium", a zoo (you will meet 350 species of animals + a visit to the Museum of Natural History + a walk in a small botanical garden), the Museum of Japanese Art "Tikotin" (6,000 exhibits are subject to inspection in the form of sketches, reproductions, paintings, ceramics, ancient books, textiles, figurines; those who wish can attend seminars, film screenings, Japanese language courses).

Where to stay for tourists

Tourists can stay in the Bat Galim area - they will be located next to the city beach. In addition, the area has a developed bus service, which is good news for those planning to travel around the city (the only drawback is the old housing stock). And staying in one of the hotels in the Carmel area, tourists can find everything for a good rest, including shops and restaurants.
