June is the ideal time for a holiday in Spain, the weather is stabilizing and the air is warming. Warm things taken with you may not be useful at all, in extreme cases, during a night walk. In Spain, the temperature of June is different in the north and south. If in the region of Malaga you can see + 27C °, then in the north-west only + 18C °.

June festivals

Tourists who come to Spain on vacation in June will undoubtedly be surprised by the scale of the Sonar Festival. Supporters and adherents of electronic music and multimedia art gather here from all over the world. Sonar is a great excuse to leave Spanish sultry beaches and visit Barcelona, where the main events take place.

The program is drawn up in advance, but it is a secret for most participants and guests, it opens only the day before. The show goes on for three days. These days and nights, Barcelona turns into a single dance and music venue, where the most eminent representatives of progressive music gather to show their skills.

Holidays

The end of June - from 23 to 24 - promises the Spaniards and guests of the country the most amazing night, similar to the old Slavic holiday in honor of the summer solstice. The celebration is called the Night of St. Juan (the Slavs immediately recognize Ivan Kupala in it). And the traditions are the same - jumping over the fire, leaving behind everything bad, the triumph of light, good over the dark kingdom. A special feature of the Spanish celebration of the Night of Saint Juan is the throwing away of old furniture. There is one more difference - local beauties do not throw wreaths into the water, but jump there themselves together with the guys, thus opening the swimming season (although tourists open it a month earlier). And the stunningly beautiful finale of this holiday is the fireworks festival, the sky over Barcelona is illuminated by thousands of fireworks soaring up into the sky. On the ground, their own lights - huge figures, carved from wood or cardboard, are also joyfully burned.

For over 400 years, an amazing ritual has been performed in Castile and Leon at the end of June - jumping over babies. This is done by men dressed in red and yellow suits, holding whips and clubs in their hands, and they symbolize universal evil. Jumping over small children, they seem to take evil with them, purifying children's souls. The ritual seems strange, but, as local residents assure, there are no injured babies.
