Little Albania a couple of decades ago was famous for the fact that few people knew about it. More precisely, everyone heard the name, but not what the country is. Today it has opened to tourists from surprisingly attractive sides, and fans of clean beaches and reasonable prices choose holidays on the sea in Albania.
A bit of geography
The answer to the question of which sea washes Albania sounds the same as in the case of the interest shown to other Balkan countries - the Mediterranean. To be geographically precise, in Albania its shores make especially attractive two parts of the Mediterranean Sea - the Ionian and the Adriatic, connected with each other by the Oranto Strait. The northeastern coast of Albania is washed by the Adriatic, and the southeast by the Ionian Sea. The total length of the coastline is over 360 kilometers.
The climate of the Albanian coast can be called Mediterranean. The beach season starts here in late spring and lasts until the end of September. The water temperature at the height of summer on the beaches reaches +26 degrees, and cool winds from the Albanian sea make sunbathing pleasant and comfortable. The beaches of the Albanian Riviera are distinguished by their special cleanliness and a small number of tourists so far. This destination is just beginning to gain tourist popularity, but the infrastructure of resort towns is already making itself felt quite loudly. Hotels in Albanian resorts are built for every taste, and the prices for accommodation are pleasantly surprising and look much more profitable compared to neighboring Mediterranean countries.
You can supplement your vacation on the sea in Albania with interesting excursions to natural and historical sights. Many sites here are protected by UNESCO, which is an excellent recommendation for viewing and visiting.
