Slovenia is a miniature state, equal to only half of the entire area of the Moscow region. But this country is an absolutely amazing land, which is compared to the "green treasures" of an old woman in Europe. And not surprising, because most of Slovenia is covered with dense forests.
The best resorts in Slovenia are cities with a long history, ancient knightly castles, clear waters of the Adriatic Sea and, of course, thermal springs.
Ljubljana
The city is located in a picturesque place in the foothills of the Julian Alps, on the banks of the Ljubljanica River. The capital of Slovenia is also called "Little Prague" for its incredibly beautiful architecture.
Ljubljana is just perfect for leisurely walks. There are places in the city where the entry of cars is completely prohibited. You can get around this small town in just one day, but, nevertheless, it will not be boring here.
The old part of the city, located on the right bank of the Ljubljanica, contains an amazing architectural treasure - the Ljubljana Castle. This old, well-preserved castle stands on a high hill. And from here the whole city is visible at a glance.
Alpine lakes
Fans of a romantic getaway, when choosing a vacation spot, should pay attention to the Bled and Bohinj lakes.
Lake Bled is located in the Julian Alps and has its own unique microclimate. There are no sharp temperature fluctuations, strong winds do not blow, the sun pleases with its light almost all year round. On the shore of the lake there are warm thermal springs, which attract many tourists. In the warm season, the lake has excellent conditions for rafting, hang gliding. An excellent opportunity for cycling is provided. And winter is all about skiing and snowboarding.
The second lake - Bohinj is surrounded by mountains on three sides, therefore it is almost completely protected from the winds. There are almost no entertainment venues here, so Bohinj will be interesting for lovers of secluded relaxation and extreme sports who want to get their adrenaline rush while mountaineering or paragliding.
Maribor
It is the second largest city in Slovenia. And what makes it especially attractive is the proximity to one of the largest Slovenian ski resorts - Mariborsko Pohorje. Both amateurs and professionals feel equally comfortable here. It is on the slopes of Pohorje Maribor that one of the World Cup stages takes place, where alpine skiers compete. The well-developed infrastructure of the resort makes it possible for sledges and snowboarders to test their strength.
The thermal springs of Maribor help in the complex treatment of many diseases. The resort's sanatoriums use only the latest equipment and treatment methods, and also provide their guests with all the conditions for a comfortable pastime.
