All sightseeing tours in Ryazan start from the Kremlin - a unique complex with church and civil buildings of the 15th – 19th centuries. There are many architectural monuments on the territory of the Kremlin:

  • Assumption Cathedral. Not a single detail is repeated in the drawing of the temple. This structure was built without a single blueprint, therefore it is truly unique. The temple has a multi-tiered carved iconostasis and a majestic bell tower with an observation deck.
  • Oleg's palace. This is an architectural monument of the 17th-18th centuries. and truly the largest building in the Kremlin. The palace was supposedly built on the site of the prince's court in the 16th century. The building has beautiful colored platbands, a baroque pediment and terem windows.
  • The Archangel Cathedral is the oldest building of the 15th - 17th centuries. This temple is cross-domed and single-domed, it is erected on four pillars.
  • Nativity of Christ Cathedral - the first stone building of the Kremlin at that time. In the diocese of Ryazan, it is the main church. The cathedral is richly decorated from the inside and has an unsurpassed carved iconostasis.

All these structures are combined into the Ryazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve.

Ryazan has many different museums: the museum-estate of Academician Pavlov, museums of military equipment and airborne troops, an art museum, etc.

The city center is decorated with a monument to St. George the Victorious, and not far from the Kremlin, Prince Oleg Ryazansky rises.
