Gardermoen Airport is the main airport in the Norwegian capital city of Oslo. The international airport is located about 50 km north of Oslo in Gardermoen. It was decided to start building a new airport when the airport in Fornebu was no longer able to handle passenger traffic and there was no room for expansion. The new airport was built in 1998. It is worth noting that the construction was originally planned in the municipality of Hurum, but the decision was changed due to constant problems with fog.

Now the airport in Oslo is the largest in the whole country, and also the fastest growing among the Scandinavian airports. From Gardermoen Airport, there are flights in all directions, and the number of cities is constantly increasing.

Services

The first thing worth mentioning is the Duty Free shopping area. Oslo Airport has the largest shopping area in all of Europe. In addition, there are other necessary services at the airport - cafes, restaurants, bank offices and ATMs, currency exchange offices, a mother and child room, etc.

In case of a long wait for their flight, the passenger can go to the hotel. There are 7 hotels near the airport in Oslo, which are ready to provide a cozy room for relaxation.

Transport links with the city

The arriving passenger can easily get to the city:
