The hero city of Sevastopol attracts tourists largely due to the historical events that took place on its territory. The city has a lot of exhibitions, museums of military equipment and other reminders of troubled times and unforgettable pages of history. However, people come here not only to enrich their baggage of cultural and historical knowledge, but also just to relax. The beaches of Sevastopol invite everyone who wants to combine business with pleasure: sunbathe, admire the dolphins and get acquainted with the military history of Crimea.
In the vicinity of Sevastopol and in the city itself, there are a huge number of beaches - there are up to fifty recreation sites. There are much fewer fully equipped comfortable beaches, but not every vacationer needs to be provided with all kinds of beach equipment, some are content with wild beaches. It is noteworthy that the entrance to all the beaches of Sevastopol is absolutely free.
Beaches on the northern side of Sevastopol
The best sandy beaches of Sevastopol are located in this part of it. Those who came to rest by their own car can visit the beaches in Orlovka, Lyubimovka or Kach.
A pleasant addition to the good service there will also be the sale of fruits at affordable prices, as well as the opportunity to settle in a ward town. Children will find rides and water slides here, while adults can relax in peace.
Sometimes festivals are held on local beaches where you can dance all night long and enjoy refreshing drinks. All of these beaches are very spacious, so there is enough space for everyone.
Uchkuevka beach
The sandy Uchkuevka beach on the northern side of the city will delight vacationers with a whole set of pleasant details:
- clean, fine sand;
- a large strip of the coast;
- a decent number of cafes and restaurants for every taste and budget;
- pine forest park nearby.
Lifeguards are on duty here, there is a rental of beach equipment, a volleyball court, a children's playground with trampolines and water slides.
Beach "Lyubimovka"
The sand and pebble beaches of Lyubimovka are equipped with changing rooms, toilets, sun umbrellas, and rescue towers. Whole families with children often come here. Some parts of the beach are reserved for children's camps and sanatoriums, but admission is free everywhere.
Various eateries, cafeterias, souvenir shops stretch along the beach. There is a rental of beach equipment. A variety of water activities are offered.
Fat Man Beach
A small beach "Tolstyak" is located on the northern side of Sevastopol near the cape of the same name. The beach is covered with colorful pebbles and some sand. There is an open sea and clear water.
Infrastructure of the beach: changing rooms, showers, toilets, rental of sun loungers and sun loungers, a medical center, lifeguards work. There is a car park and eateries. There is an opportunity to ride catamarans, banana boats, windsurf. Sports grounds are equipped.
Beaches on the south side of Sevastopol
Almost all the main sights of the city are located on the southern side of Sevastopol. There are beach areas near many, but these are wild beaches with no amenities. Only locals often swim in the gullies and it is not recommended for tourists to swim - it can be dangerous. Some beaches are not suitable for swimming, but only for relaxing on the shore. But at the same time, there are several comfortable beaches. They will be discussed below.
Victory park beach
The beach in Victory Park is one of the most popular beaches in Sevastopol. It is a small pebble beach with some large boulders near the water. The beach is divided into sectors by breakwaters. You can jump from the breakwaters into the sea, but be careful, as there are rocky ledges and boulders.
Beach infrastructure: changing rooms, toilets, sun loungers and umbrellas rental, various eateries and stalls. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach, there is a first-aid post. For children there are trampolines, water slides, and for adults and teenagers, you can ride a banana or jet ski.
In recent years, Victory Park has been reconstructed. Therefore, access to the beach may not be as convenient as it used to be.
Crystal Beach
In the very center of the city there is the Khrustalny beach on the shore of the bay of the same name. The beach is covered with concrete, and the entrance to the water is carried out along small ladders. The depth of the sea is very perceptible - 2 meters from the very entrance to the water, so it is not recommended to relax here with children.
Beach equipment and the opportunity to visit the changing room or shower are provided to tourists for a fee. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach. It is forbidden to swim far here - water transport passes nearby.
Omega beach
The largest beach here is considered to be Omega, located in the sandy Kruglaya bay. The beach is ideal for families with children, and adults will find entertainment here to their liking.
The beach has piers for diving, changing rooms, showers, toilets, boat and catamarans for rent. There are many bars and cafes along the beach, and discos will not let you get bored in the evenings.
Beaches of Quarantine Bay and Chersonesos
Near Chersonesos and the two bays that flank it - Karantinnaya and Pesochnaya, there are several beaches, but they are not equipped and you should swim there carefully, especially in the bays. Even if the entrance to the water is shallow, then slippery stones lie at the bottom and you can slip.
Near the Chersonesos reserve itself there are also wild beaches, where swimming is not officially prohibited, but not recommended, since this is a museum-reserve territory. There is no beach infrastructure here.
The only plus of these beaches, especially in the Quarantine Bay, is a magnificent view of the Chersonesos ensemble, its ruins and the cathedral.
Sunny beach
Sunny Beach is located in the Sandy Bay. It was completely reconstructed quite recently. The beach is covered with small pebbles and sand, the entrance to the sea is shallow, the depth grows slowly, which is very convenient for families with children.
The beach has stationary sun awnings, changing rooms, a toilet, lifeguards, beach and water equipment rental. There is a shady park nearby.
Beaches of the Cossack Bay
These are wild beaches with no infrastructure. The cover is sometimes sand with grass or pebbles, often framed by rocks, from where the locals like to jump into the water. In some places, the entrance to the water is gentle and convenient. Here you can spend the night in tents, have picnics.
Sections of the beach belonging to sanatoriums or recreation centers are cleaned and improved. There are sun loungers and umbrellas, water and beach equipment rental.
Tsarskoe Selo beach on Fiolent
Tsarskoe Selo beach is located near Cape Lermontov and Cape Fiolent. It is a pebble beach with clear, transparent sea water. You can go down to the beach using an iron staircase, overcoming 180 steps. There are benches for rest and a café along the stairs.
Not far from the beach is Diana's grotto, which is located on the very Cape of Lermontov (by the way, the famous poet has nothing to do with the name of this cape, just his namesake lived nearby). The grotto can only be reached by water.
Jasper beach on Fiolent
Jasper Beach is a unique pebble beach at Cape Fiolent. Here, unusually clear sea water, extraordinary pebbles of various shades, and pieces of jasper and chalcedony polished by the sea come across. The beach is framed by rocks, so the descent here goes along an old stone staircase of 800 steps.
Until recently, it was a wild beach, but now it was equipped with changing rooms, awnings from the sun, a rental point for sun loungers and water transport. Rescuers and doctors are on duty. There are stalls with food and water, a toilet.
