Description of the attraction

Mae Ping National Park with an area of more than 1000 square kilometers is located in part of Chiang Mai province, as well as in Lampang and Tak provinces. The park got its name from the river of the same name, which flows along it in the south to the largest reservoir in Thailand, the Phumibol Dam. Here, cruise ships sail the glistening water surface, enjoying the cleanest air and excellent mountain views.

The main relief of the park is a mountain range with a height of about 900 meters above sea level, the maximum peak of 1334 meters is the Doi Hua Lao peak. Numerous streams of water flow down the slopes.

Deciduous forests account for 80% of the entire territory of Mae Ping National Park, and only 20% are evergreen. Some of the most beautiful tree species such as teak, mahogany and Burmese rosewood are abundant here.

The fauna of the park is impressive with its diversity. Goral, deer, wild pigs, fishing cat, Asian black bear, Indian civet, as well as macaques, langurs and gibbons can be found there. In addition, the park is home to over 80 rare bird species, making it an attractive destination for many bird watchers.

There is Kor Luang waterfall in the park. It represents 500 meters of falling water with two steps. Many birds live in the forests surrounding the waterfall, watching them to the sound of the waterfall can bring truly divine pleasure.
