If you want to see how wild animals such as tigers, lions and crocodiles live in their natural habitat, then a visit to Taman Safari Park must be part of the program of your stay on the island of Java.
Taman Safari Indonesia is a safari park located in the city of Bogor (West Java province on the island of Java), on the Arjuno Uelirang stratovolcano (East Java province on the Java island) and in the famous Bali Safari and Marina Park. These parks are also known as Taman Safari I, II and III. The most popular of these parks is Taman Safari I.
Taman Safari I is located just off the highway between Jakarta and Bandung, West Java province. The territory of this park is about 170 hectares. The park is home to about 2,500 animals, including Bengal tigers, giraffes, orangutans, zebras, hippos, Malay bears, cheetahs, elephants and even Komodo monitor lizards. There are also wallabies (from the kangaroo family), Peruvian penguins, kangaroos and crocodiles. Some of these animals can only be seen in Indonesia.
You can enter the park by any type of transport, you just need to pay for a ticket for a car and a driver (if you hired a taxi). There are posters everywhere warning that there is wildlife around and safety rules must be followed. The park offers wildlife shows, including dolphin and elephant shows. For those wishing to stay in the park overnight, there are bungalows and camping sites.
Taman Safari II is located in the port city of Pasuruan, East Java province, and is located on the slopes of Mount Arjuno Uelirang. The territory is about 350 hectares. Taman Safari III is a Bali Safari and Marina Park located in Gianyar District of Bali.
