Description of the attraction
Ornos is a small fishing village and a magnificent sandy beach on the southern coast of the Greek island of Mykonos. Ornos is located in a cozy, well protected from strong winds (typical for this region) natural bay, about 2.5-3 km south of the administrative center of the island - the city of Chora.
Ornos is one of the best and most popular beaches on the island. It is perfectly organized and provides all the necessary services for a comfortable relaxing stay. Here you can bask in the warm sand under the rays of the Greek sun (if you wish, you can rent sun umbrellas and sun loungers), and outdoor enthusiasts can diversify their leisure time by taking up various water sports. The beach and its surroundings offer an excellent selection of varied accommodation - hotels and villas (including luxury ones), comfortable apartments and rooms, as well as many excellent restaurants, taverns and bars. Just a short walk from the beach you will find mini markets, supermarket, pharmacy and more.
By visiting the small marina where yachts, boats and fishing boats moor, you can organize exciting fishing trips, as well as boat trips along the shores of Mykonos or to the neighboring islands.
Excellent infrastructure, fine clean sand and crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea, as well as a very convenient gentle entry into the water (almost along the entire coastline) make Ornos especially attractive for families with children. True, it is worth considering that the excessive popularity of the beach is inevitably associated with crowds, so lovers of peace and solitude should look for a more secluded place.
You can get to Ornos by public transport (regular buses run from Chora), by taxi or by a rented car.
