The Casino de Colchagua in Santa Cruz was built in 2008 by a group of companies, most of which are owned by local entrepreneur Carlos Cardoen. The investment in construction amounted to $ 7, 7 million, with its opening 174 jobs were created. The casino is part of the Santa Cruz Plaza Hotel and is open 7 days a week.
By law, 20% of the proceeds from the Casino de Colchagua can only be used for social projects or community projects that directly benefit the population, such as paying for clinics and primary education, cleaning and lighting roads.
The casino building has a colonial decor with grapevine ornaments. The casino personnel are dressed in uniforms with a national flavor - this was one of the conditions of the Casino de Colchagua project.
The casino building, with an area of 4300 square meters, houses 17 gaming tables, 60 bingo and 230 slot machines, two bars with a wide selection of drinks, a restaurant and VIP lounges.
