Description of the attraction
The Vvedenskaya church was built of wood in 1912 and is the main attraction of the small mountain village of Palyanitsa (Bukovel), which lies at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. This area is famous for its clean air, excellent ecology and beautiful mountain views. Today Bukovel is a mountain and recreational center, as well as one of the most popular ski resorts in Ukraine.
However, few visitors are familiar with the amazing history of the wooden Vvedenskaya church, known far beyond the village. The official history, namely, the first mention of the village, dates back to the 19th century, when the village, or rather just a valley at that time, was in the possession of a certain Popovich. At that time the village was called Palyanitsa-Popovichevskaya.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Prince Johann II of Liechtenstein, who owned an estate in Palyanitsa and had the right to hunt in the forests adjacent to the village, allocated funds for the construction of a church in this village. It was consecrated by Stanislavsky Bishop Kir Grigory Khomishin on the day of the celebration of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, after which she was named.
The wars bypassed the temple, but in 1946 the Church of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Temple suffered a misfortune - it burned down. For a long time, her place was empty. And only almost half a century later, in 90 of the last century, by the efforts of the master Yuri Timofey, a new wooden church was built.
Not far from the church, Austrian soldiers who died in these places during the First World War found their last refuge.
