Description of the attraction
The Svyato-Vvedenskaya Church, located in the city of Yeisk on Shkolnaya Street, is one of the attractions of this resort. The temple was built in 1915.
After the October Revolution, like all other churches in the city, the Holy Vvedenskaya Church was destroyed. From the old church, only an extension has survived, on the site of which they began to restore the church. The construction of the shrine was carried out with funds donated by local residents. But there was still not enough money for the construction of the church, so its construction was delayed.
Construction work on the construction of the church ended only after the charitable foundation of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker undertook to complete it in March 2003. When the temple was completed, it was consecrated in the name of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the temple.
The modern church is a huge brick one-domed building overlaid with natural stone. The main volume is a quadruple, completed by a large dome on a light drum. Inside the temple is decorated with a carved iconostasis. The window openings were made in the form of arches. The bell tower attached to the main part of the building has a hipped roof. The square in front of the Svyato-Vvedenskaya churches is lined with colored paving slabs. On the territory of the temple, construction work is underway to build a chapel and a water-bearing gazebo.
Today the Holy Vvedenskaya Church is a functioning temple. There is a children's Sunday school and a library at the church, and various charity programs for children from low-income families are often held here. The patronal feast is celebrated on December 4th.
