Description of the attraction
Trufanets waterfall is located in the Transcarpathian region, Rakhiv district, the village of Yasinya. Trufanets is located on the southeastern slope of the Svidovets ridge, two kilometers from the high-mountainous Ukrainian ski resort Dragobrat and seven kilometers from the village. Kvass. It is impossible not to notice the waterfall while driving along the Yasinya-Rakhiv highway.
It is named after the right tributary of the same name called the Black Tisza. The Trufanets River, the channel of which is the source of the waterfall, originates from the subalpine belt at an altitude of just over 1,700 meters above the sea, at the foot of the famous Gemini Mountain in the Carpathians. The river makes a path for three kilometers and joins with the mighty stream of the Black Tisza River. The Trufanets waterfall with steep rock massifs is the last threshold, overcome by the waters of the river before the confluence of the Tisza.
Trufanets is the highest natural waterfall in Transcarpathia. The height of this rock mass reaches 36 meters. The waterfall is formed by several cascades, and this is an amazing natural picture of extraordinary beauty. Trufanets makes an extraordinary impression, and those who happened to see him often call him the most picturesque waterfall in the Ukrainian Carpathians.
At the foot of the waterfall, for the best view, a wooden alcove was built, reminiscent of a forest fairytale house. Altanka is located at the point from which the beauty of Trufanets waterfall is revealed in full. You can get to it from the road in just a minute along the steps leading down.
