Description of the attraction
Fai della Paganella is a small ski resort located on a plateau about a thousand meters above sea level. The first mentions of Fai date back to the 12th century, although the commune was officially founded only in 1952. Today it is a popular ski resort, attracting not only with its slopes, but also with an amazing panorama of the Adige Valley. Near Fai there is another resort - Andalo, with 50 km of well-equipped pistes and modern lifts. The skiing season here lasts from December to April.
You can get to Fai della Paganella by bus from the city of Trento, the administrative center of the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige. And you can stay in one of 20 local hotels. Or in a private house rented by the townspeople.
Of the sights of Fai della Paganella, it is worth noting, first of all, the Monte Corno - Cesare Battisti cave. This is one of the largest and most beautiful caves in the entire area. It is a recess in the rock in the form of a regular trapezoid and is about a kilometer long with many branches. From the cave you can go to the observation deck overlooking the Valle Adige.
Also, tourists will enjoy a visit to the newly opened snow park, which houses a school and a skiing field, snow tubing, a playground for children, giant inflatable slides and a castle. Here you can also rent a sleigh, play bobsleigh, explore the igloo mini-village and just enjoy a fine day.
