Description of the attraction

The Museum of Belarusian Militia was opened on November 11, 1987 in the Minsk Militia Club, but it was decided to start collecting exhibits for the museum back in the 60s.

The museum contains unique exhibits that tell about the formation of law enforcement and interrogation bodies, from the Middle Ages to the present day. A separate exposition is a collection of archaeological finds of torture instruments. Walking through the halls of the museum, you will see how the methods of detecting and protecting public order in Belarus have improved.

The museum contains unique documents and photographs, weapons, uniforms, insignia. The main pride of the museum is the order of the Civil Commandant of the city of Miska on the creation of the people's militia on March 4, 1917. The modern Belarusian militia began with this document.

A separate hall tells about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and about the partisan movement, which Belarusian policemen have joined since the Nazi occupation of the homeland.

The hall of the museum is a kind of Book of Memory. Here are written the names of all the policemen who gave their lives for the peace of the country in peacetime.

The museum contains the richest collection of weapons. Visitors to the museum of the Belarusian militia can see how the militia developed and what the Belarusian militiamen were armed with.

Visitors will be interested to see the exposition dedicated to the liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - Belarusian policemen. The exhibition contains documents, photographs, personal belongings and equipment of the heroes.
