Description of the attraction
Maltsev Waterfalls is one of the natural attractions of the Goryachy Klyuch resort. They are located 5 km from the city, on the northern slopes of the Kokht ridge, in the upper reaches of the Maltseva Shchel stream. Among the people, the waterfalls have another name - the Devil's Mouth (Psechiaco).
A four-stage waterfall with a total height of 23 m is located in a gorge surrounded on both sides by sandstone rocks with various grottoes and niches. The total difference in heights of the Maltsev waterfalls is about 6-8 m. But they look more spectacular precisely in the spring during the abundant melting of snow and heavy rains. In the summer, the waterfall is a small thread of water that flows over the sandstone.
A convenient path leads to the Maltsev waterfalls along the left bank of the stream. Above the waterfall, there are beautiful flat areas where you can mark a campground.
The trail to the Devil's Mouth (Psechiaco) waterfalls is one of the most popular and easiest tourist routes in the city. It runs along the picturesque valley of the Maltsev stream, which is also very popular with tourists visiting the local area. Traveling through the valley will be a great pleasure. Even in the hottest summer, it is always cool and fresh here.
The road to the Maltsev waterfalls from the town of Goryachiy Klyuch will take about 1, 5–2 hours. This is an easy route, so even unprepared tourists, as well as families with children, can cope with it.
