Description of the attraction

Slavyanovskiy pump-room in the town of Zheleznovodsk is located on the eastern side of Mount Zheleznaya in the middle of the resort park. The famous Pushkin Gallery is located within walking distance from the drinking spring.

The water from the pump room was named after its discoverer - engineer-hydrogeologist N. N. Slavyanov, who was engaged in the development and research of the mineral water base of the city of Zheleznovodsk, from 1912 to 1955. Studying the geology of Mount Zheleznaya, a hydrogeological engineer came to the conclusion that it is necessary to bring healing water to the surface by deep drilling. Such work has not yet been carried out. As a drilling site, he chose spring no. 4, which was developed by Jules François. As it turned out, the source of mineral water here was not very large, since when drilling a well to the depth of water that is usual for city springs, there was no water either. But NN Slavyanov's calculations were fully justified - in the spring of 1914, vertical borehole No. 16 (at that time the only deep drilling in Zheleznovodsk) from a depth of 120.4 m brought hot mineral water with a temperature of 56 ° C from the marls of the Essentuksky horizon.

In 1916, the well was capped and the building of the pump-room of the Slavyanovskiy source was built. The author of the project was the Pyatigorsk architect A. M. Model. In 1917 the pump-room was put into operation. Since 1918 it has been called "Slavyanovskiy". Today it is a monument to the history of the resort.

The main feature of Slavic water is the presence of radon in it in very small quantities. In composition, it is similar to the waters of the Czech spa Karlovy Vary and is intended for drinking treatment, since it has healing properties.

The Slavyanovsk pump-room has decorative open pavilions with stands for water supply. Unfortunately, pump rooms have not been working lately, water is supplied in a closed pavilion. At the same time, the site itself is very beautiful and unusual. Here you can take a photo as a souvenir, read a book or just relax in the silence of the park.
