Description of the attraction
The excellent sandy beach of Mikri Vigla is one of the most beautiful places on the Greek island of Naxos. The beach is located on the southwestern coast of Naxos, about 16-17 km from the capital of the island of the same name.
In fact, Mikri Vigla consists of two beaches - Parthenos and Sahara (also known as Limanaki), separated only by a picturesque rocky promontory. Once upon a time there was an observation post on this cape, which the locals specially organized in order to prepare in advance for a possible attack by pirates and other conquerors.
Parthenos North Beach, thanks to the famous Cycladic wind Meltemi, is considered one of the best places on the island for windsurfing and kitesurfing. But the southern beach of Sahara is well protected from strong winds by a cape and is perfect for families with children.
On and around the beach you will find many excellent taverns, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as a wide range of accommodation.
