Description of the attraction
In the town of Samut Prakan near Bangkok, there is a huge crocodile farm, where there is no end to tourists. It was founded by Utai Yongprapakorn, a wealthy businessman, owner of crocodile leather accessories business. In 1950, a nursery was opened near Bangkok, where various types of reptiles were kept, including rare ones listed in the Red Book. Then there were few crocodiles here, but now their number has increased to 60 thousand individuals.
Specially for tourists, performances with the participation of crocodiles are held here. Brave trainers pull toothy reptiles by the tails, stick their heads in their mouths and tell you how you can cope with an adult crocodile that tries to attack you. Children will be delighted with the opportunity to feed young crocodiles with fish heads tied to sticks, while adult tourists will be more pleased with the store with crocodile leather goods. The local restaurant serves dishes made with crocodile meat.
You can move around the crocodile farm on elephants or on foot. In addition to the nursery, where reptiles are kept, there is a snake pavilion, aviaries with birds, mainly parrots, and a small zoo, whose inhabitants are not afraid of people and willingly pose for everyone.
There is a large lake on the territory of the farm, where you can ride on catamarans. Nearby there is a dinosaur museum with large models of prehistoric monsters.
You can get to the crocodile farm either by public transport or by taxi. It is better to negotiate the fare with the taxi driver in advance.
