Description of the attraction

Vancouver's Vogue Theater is undoubtedly one of the most famous theaters in Canada. The theater is located in downtown Granville Street and is perhaps one of the most visited cultural institutions in Vancouver.

The construction of the theater began in 1940. The design was carried out by a well-known Canadian architectural firm - "Kaplan & Sprachman". The works were completed in record lines, and already in 1941 the theater first opened its doors to the public.

The theater building is a rather interesting art deco structure. The smooth lines are enhanced by the symmetrical façade, which features textured concrete and terrazzo panels and wrought iron elements. A huge neon sign, crowned with an elegant silhouette of the Roman goddess Diana, harmoniously fits into the overall design. Decorated in the art deco style and the interior of the theater. The building is characterized by a carefully thought-out lighting system and excellent acoustics. Created in the theater and all conditions for people with special needs.

Today the Vogue Theater is theatrical supplies, concerts, film premieres, festivals and other cultural events. Among the most important and exciting events ever held within the walls of the theater are the Vancouver Comedifest, the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Vancouver Jazz Festival. On February 11, 2015, the first concert of the talented American singer and composer Megan Elizabeth Trainor took place at the Vogue Theater as part of her world tour - "That Bass Tour".

In 1993, the Vogue Theater building was designated a National Historic Landmark of Canada.
