- off-season, that is, March and April, when there are many tourists on the island who are tired of European frosts and come to soak up the tropical sun. Accommodation prices are falling at this time;
- monsoon season. From May to October, the rainy period begins in Phuket. Especially a lot of precipitation falls in September. This is the quietest and quietest period on the island. Noisy and crowded only on the eastern beaches, which are suitable for boarding. Tourists who come to Phuket at this time rejoice at low prices in hotels and local cafes.
Phuket in winter
December is a great time to relax in Phuket. During this period, bright holidays and carnivals are held here. On December 5th, the birthday of the Thai king is celebrated magnificently throughout Thailand. Around the same time, a regatta is taking place in Phuket, in which dozens of luxury yachts are participating. An unforgettable sight! In February, when Phuket's dry season ends, there are fewer tourists on the island. The weather is still good: there are many sunny days, the water near the coast is well warmed up.
Spring on the island
In March, the air temperature in Phuket rises significantly. It rains, but rarely. On the coast of the island, bright marine life appears, which is so interesting to observe during a dive. March in Phuket is the best time for fishing. Experts say that you can even hunt marlin.
In April, there is a relative calm in Phuket. Most of the tourists have already left the island for fear of the rainy season. At this time it is still dry. Some travelers come to the island in April, receiving substantial discounts in hotels.
May is considered the beginning of the monsoon period. At this time surfers come to Phuket. Large waves appear around the middle of the month off the west coast. The beaches in the eastern part of Phuket are still busy with swimmers.
Rain season
The monsoon season in Phuket lasts until November. Rains are rare in June. The waves near the coast are still small. Novice surfers gather on local beaches. In July, beaches are increasingly marked with red flags, which means that swimming is prohibited from entering the water. But suitable conditions are established for surfing. August pleases with coolness. At this time, it is good to go on excursions to the most picturesque places of the island. The price of tropical fruits is significantly reduced. And in local taverns, the cost of lunch will be significantly lower than in the high season.
The present rainy season begins in September. It can rain for several days, which can ruin any vacation. Many beaches are closed for swimming. In October, it still rains, but not so often. In November, the high season begins, prices for accommodation and meals immediately rise.
