When asked where it is better to have a rest in Vietnam, each of those who have been there answers in their own way. All of its resorts are a bit similar, but at the same time differ from each other in their own characteristics, allowing every traveler in love with exotic to choose the perfect place to fulfill his cherished dream.
Popular resorts of Vietnam
Vietnam stretches from north to south along the South China Sea for about 1,700 kilometers. The climate in different parts of the country can vary very significantly, and therefore, when choosing where to relax in Vietnam, take into account the peculiarities of the weather at specific resorts:
- The most popular with tourists from Russia Phan Thiet and Mui Ne fall during the rainy season from May to October. At this time, the resorts can experience both short-term heavy showers and prolonged rains lasting for several days. The best time to visit Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is winter and early spring.
- On Phu Quoc Island, the wet season is slightly shorter and precipitation can interfere with vacationers' plans only from July to mid-autumn.
- In Nha Trang, it is especially rainy and windy in November-December. It is better not to come here at all during these months. Weather that is not too favorable for a beach holiday also occurs in the first half of autumn - precipitation can be significant and prolonged. The rest of the year, the resort's beaches have a heavenly atmosphere.
- Halong Bay, whose unique landscapes delight tourists with its unique outlines, is located in the northern part of the country. The optimal months for visits there are April, May and September-October. In winter, it is too cold to sunbathe, and in summer, high humidity due to frequent tropical showers will not allow you to enjoy the beauty.
- At the resort of Da Nang, located approximately equidistant from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the rainy season begins in September and lasts until the New Year. During the rest of the months, its beaches are sunny and dry.
If your plans include visiting the largest Vietnamese cities with an excursion program, be guided by the fact that summer and the first half of autumn in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can be rainy.
How to get to Vietnam and where to stay?
The two main international airports of the republic are located in the cities of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. It is they who take on the bulk of foreign tourists who come to beach holidays on the shores of the South China Sea:
- In Ho Chi Minh City, which was once Saigon and the ancient capital of the country, Aeroflot planes fly directly. It is better to check the schedule of regular flights on the company's website - www.aeroflot.ru. Round-trip tickets cost about $ 500, and the journey takes about 10 hours. Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways fly the cheapest with connections, but $ 490 does not seem like such a pleasant price for 20 hours of travel, taking into account two connections - in Abu Dhabi or Doha and Bangkok.
- Hanoi Airport has a more varied arrival schedule. Aeroflot representatives fly here every day, performing a regular flight from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. The price of the issue is from $ 430 in both directions. We have to spend 10 hours in the sky.
Getting from Vietnam's airports to its resorts is not a difficult task, but time consuming. For example, local bus carriers will help you get to Phan Thiet. There are several daily departures from Ho Chi Minh Bus Station. The cost of the trip will be no more than 5 euros, and you will have to spend about 6 hours on the road.
Nha Trang is more remote from Ho Chi Minh City and the bus trip to its beaches will take about 9 hours. The ticket price is from $ 20 to $ 25, a train ride will cost a little less. Nha Trang has a local airport, Cam Ranh, where there are several daily flights from both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. It is possible to get to Nha Trang by connecting flights of Chinese airlines directly from Moscow, but for more than a day on the road and two transfers, you will have to pay almost $ 630.
When asked where is the best vacation in Vietnam from the point of view of a Russian traveler, experts confidently answer that in Mui Ne. This resort area of Phan Thiet is filled with shops with Russian-speaking vendors, restaurants with Russian-language menus and travel agencies that offer guided tours of the great and the mighty. The hotel area of the resort is located in close proximity to the sea and the hotels are mainly located directly on the beach.
The infrastructure of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet allows you to find activities to your liking both for fans of lazy rest and active tourists. The beaches of the resort are equipped with everything you need, and the water sports centers have equipment for surfing, kiting and paragliding. Mui Ne has a decent golf course and nightlife lovers usually enjoy the local clubs. Although, in fairness, it is worth noting that in Nha Trang with nightlife and youth entertainment, things are a little better.
Beaches and underwater world
Where to find the best Vietnam vacation if you are a diver? The regulars of the sites of the South China Sea are ready to answer this question without hesitation: Hoi An, Nha Trang, Kondao and Phu Quoc. The diverse nature and climatic features of the country make it possible to dive almost all year round, if you know the schedule of the most suitable seasons. The first half of the year is most ideal for scuba diving on the beaches of Nha Trang, and starting in November, the underwater world becomes especially beautiful on Phu Quoc Island.
If you are just planning to master diving, you should opt for Nha Trang. Instructors at local diving centers will not only help you learn the art of diving, but will also give you a scuba diving certificate. Low prices for services make the Vietnamese resort one of the most affordable for divers in the world. You can take the PADI Open Water Diver course for only $ 250, and dive a couple of times for $ 50. Moreover, the cost of equipment and boat rental are already included in the price.
The beaches of Vietnam are all, without exception, free, but for renting equipment you will be asked from $ 1.5 to $ 2 per day. The most beautiful and wild beaches are in the Phu Quoc archipelago. The national park, located on the islands, gives guests the opportunity not only to sunbathe, but also to admire nature in its original form. For example, Bai Sao Beach is famous for its perfect white sand and turquoise clear sea.
Divers will appreciate the beaches in the Con Dao Archipelago in the south of the country. Here you can rent both luxury bungalows and quite budget apartments for a couple of tens of euros per day. In the resorts of Nha Trang and Danang, the beaches are mostly sandy with a gentle entrance to the water. They are ideal for those who come on vacation with children and prefer a calm sea. Perfect resort photos can be taken at Wanphong Bay. White sand dunes, blue water and emerald greens of palm groves framing the coast will serve as a picturesque backdrop for photo shoots on a honeymoon trip or just during a romantic walk.
