The location of Honduras with the capital Tegucigalpa is Central America (formerly the state was called Spanish Honduras). The Republic of Honduras (area - 112,492 sq. Km, of which the coastline accounts for 820 km) is bordered by Nicaragua on the southeast side, Guatemala on the west, and El Salvador on the southwest, and washed by the Fonseca Bay in the south (in the east of the Pacific Ocean)), and from the north - the Caribbean Sea and its Honduran Gulf.
Most of Honduras is highlands (their height does not exceed 2870 m), and the highlands are crossed by the Opalaca, Montesillos and Comayagua mountain ranges. The state includes the Central District, the departments of Cortes, Choluteca, Intibuca, Francisco Morasan, El Paraiso, La Paz, Olancho, Valle, Yoro and others (18 in total), as well as a number of numerous islands, in particular Swan.
How to get to Honduras?
Direct flights between Russia and Honduras are not established: Continental Airlines and Delta Airlines offer those who wish to fly through American cities, and Iberia through Spanish cities. The duration of the flight, excluding connections, is approximately 15 hours.
You can fly to Tegucigalpa from Moscow by stopping at the airports of San Pedro Sula and New York (passengers will have a 27, 5-hour air trip) or El Salvador and Washington (the journey will take 35 hours).

Those who decide to visit Tegucigalpa will be able to spend time in La Concordia park (it is worth paying attention to the sculptures exhibited there), stroll through the San Isidro market, admire the Iglesia de San Francisco church (Spanish style in the interior), the San Miguel cathedral with a carved stone cross and a gilded altar, and the Presidential Palace, which became the site of the Historical Museum.
Guests of San Pedro Sula prefer to explore the Cathedral (where you can admire the stained glass windows, which depict scenes from the lives of the saints) and exhibits (portraits, coins, sculptures) of the National Gallery of Art.
Of the sights of La Ceiba, special attention should be paid to the Pico Bonito National Park. There you can meet tapirs, four-toed anteaters, white-faced monkeys, white-tailed deer, howlers and a large number of birds. And in May, you should definitely come to La Ceiba for the Carnival, within the framework of which a parade of participants, costume processions, dance parties, and concerts are held.
