The capital of Germany takes its rightful place in the list of the most popular cities in Western Europe. People from all over the world strive to this beautiful city to see historical monuments, sights, and, most importantly, to participate in numerous music and theater festivals that take place throughout the year. Let's try to find out how things are going with such a component of recreation as accommodation in Berlin, what categories of hotels are represented in the city, whether the interests of not too wealthy tourists who are not going to give up traveling in Europe are taken into account.

Accommodation and accommodation in Berlin

As practice shows, the capital of Germany is a city that is ready to satisfy any requests of its guests. Almost all types of accommodation known on the planet can be found in it, so travelers should not have any problems with the choice. Berlin is divided into districts, in each of them you can find the following places for temporary residence: 1-2 five-star luxury hotels; a large number of hotels with a category from 4 * to 2 *; campsites designed for real tourists; hostels, affordable in terms of prices, but quite comfortable.

For Berlin, in particular, and for Germany, in general, the presence of so-called "chain hotels" is characteristic. The most famous are representatives of the Motel-One chain, which have a 2 * category, and more comfortable hotels of the NH Hotels 4 * chain, offering rooms at a fairly reasonable cost.

Business hotels remain in the former West Berlin as a legacy of the recent past. As tourists say, these complexes are like one-on-one, indeed, they are intended for doing business, their interiors do not distract from business at all. The merger of West and East Berlin led to the emergence of new hotels in the eastern part, representing global brands and chains.

The cost of rooms in hotels in Berlin

It would seem that the capital of Germany is very popular with millions of tourists from all over the world, so it could set quite high prices for accommodation. But an analysis of the European hotel market allows us to conclude that prices in Berlin are one third lower than those of their neighbors.

Of course, Berliners also raise prices when high season comes or an international festival is taking place. For example, in February, when preparations begin for the famous Berlin Film Festival, guests of an important cultural event are asked to make a reservation in advance. The second global event takes place in September, the Berlin Marathon, where inexpensive two- and three-star hotels enjoy the greatest attention of guests. On the other hand, almost all hotels in the German capital start the discount season a month before Christmas in order to attract tourists. Some of them offer a special rate called week-end.

The most democratic options

And in terms of providing cheap accommodation for guests, Berlin gives odds to many European cities. Currently, the following economical options are offered: youth hostels, accommodating tourists of all ages; dormitories vacated in the summer; guesthouses or guesthouses; campgrounds.

It is interesting that the latter are ready to receive tourists at any time of the year, although they cannot provide comfortable living conditions, unlike hostels, where it is warm, comfortable, although crowded. Hostels in Berlin are one of the most democratic types of accommodation, they do not close day or night, they do not limit the length of stay.
