The capital of Belarus lags behind its western neighbors in terms of organizing tourism, although in recent years there have been shifts for the better. Today, accommodation in Minsk is possible in hotels ranging from 5 * to affordable hostels. Many of these establishments offer additional services, for example, organizing excursions to iconic places of the city and cultural and historical monuments.

Many tour operators warn travelers who are going to visit Belarus and its capital that the cost of hotel rooms is quite high, and for many budget-class tourists it is completely unaffordable. Representatives of the tourism sector note that the most rapidly developing industry in Minsk is the construction of hostels, they allow eliminating the shortage of high-quality and inexpensive housing for foreign guests. The first accommodation for tourists of this kind appeared in 2011; today there are about 30 quite comfortable hostels in the Belarusian capital, constantly receiving visiting guests.
