Not all European countries are equally attractive to tourists, not all can offer gorgeous beaches and ancient monuments, world-class artistic treasures and masterpieces of architecture. Excursions in Croatia are mainly associated with its natural resources, beautiful coastline, mineral springs of "living" water, unusual plants.

Of the cities, the Croatian capital - the magnificent Zagreb and the old Dubrovnik, which are placed on the same level with the world-famous Amsterdam and Venice - is of the greatest interest for a visitor from another country.

Green tours in Croatia

The country is very tiny, but still it is best to move around it in search of beautiful landscapes by car. Most of the excursions are associated with a trip to natural monuments, amazing corners of Croatia, some of them, already in place, are held on foot.

One of the most important excursion routes runs to the famous Plitvice Lakes, which are included in the UNESCO list of important natural attractions. The cost of the excursion for a small company will be from 400 to 500 €, the time on the route is about 11 hours (if you go from Split).

Plitvice Lakes is a complex of the most beautiful natural reservoirs and waterfalls, included in the list of natural UNESCO World Heritage Sites. They are part of Croatia's largest nature reserve. A walk through the protected areas lasts about five hours, during which time tourists have time to explore the lower lakes and the "highlight" of this corner of nature, the Big Waterfall. Then the excursion continues by boat to the so-called upper lakes, which are no less beautiful.

Around the capital - by time machine

Zagreb received a beautiful definition from local residents - "gateway to Western Europe", it is comfortably located on the banks of the Sava River. The natural water flow enables the capital's residents to begin their journey through neighboring countries. The river is one of the natural attractions of the Croatian capital, attracting foreign visitors.

Since they say that Zagreb was formed from two twin settlements, today it has two old cities - Old Upper and Old Lower. The third district of the capital is called New Zagreb, but it is the least interesting to explore. A walking tour through the ancient streets will cost 30 € per person for two hours of a fascinating journey into the depths of European history. The list of important historical and cultural attractions of the main city of Croatia: Cathedral; the church of St. Mark; Dolac market, where you can still feel the spirit of the old town.

The main city of Croatia surprises with a large number of green areas, all kinds of parks and squares. The main place is at the "Green Horseshoe", the so-called park complex, consisting of separate parts. If you look at this splendor from above, you can understand why it has such a name.

World heritage

Such an epithet in Croatia applies to Dubrovnik, a beautiful old city that has many attractions. It was here that the first pharmacy in Europe once appeared, the oldest synagogue is also located in this place.

From the 15th century, the fortress walls have been preserved here, a walk along which will allow you to bypass the old quarter of Dubrovnik along the perimeter. From the height, beautiful views of the ancient streets and squares, amazingly beautiful religious buildings and houses made in different architectural styles open up. From here, from above, magnificent panoramic views of the islands open up.

Moscow - Split

Only a person who has watched Vladimir Menshov's cult film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" will remember how Moscow and Split are connected. An ordinary Moscow locksmith Gog, aka Goga, aka Georgy Ivanovich, in order to charm his beloved woman, told her about the ancient city associated with the Roman emperor Diocletian, who preferred the cultivation of cabbage to the highest levels of power.

The palace of this great emperor can still be seen today in the old part of Split, a city-museum in which, oddly enough, people live today. The program includes acquaintance with the sights and architectural masterpieces, including the cathedral, consecrated to the part of Saint Douillet and the most beautiful temple of Jupiter. The highlight of the Split excursion is the Lobby, which is part of the palace. This is a round-shaped hall with a dome, through which one could previously enter the personal imperial chambers.

Outside the palace, there are also many beautiful architectural structures, for example, the Iron Gate, the old Town Hall, the tower that was an integral part of the castle. At the end of the excursion, guests will meet a colorful market that preserves the wonderful atmosphere of the old town. The cost of a two-hour trip to Split will be from 60 to 100 € per company.
