Crimea is a favorite vacation spot. Guests have no difficulty in deciding what to visit in Alushta, Simferopol or Yalta, each of the resorts demonstrates its zest and unique places, each leaves bright, colorful impressions and strong emotions in the hearts of tourists.

The name of the city of Alushta has ancient Greek roots and is translated as "draft". Indeed, due to its location near the Kebit-Bogaz and Angarsky passes, the resort is never too hot and dry, the salutary freshness fills the squares and streets, making the stay very comfortable.

The city has many historical, cultural and architectural monuments, places for entertainment, which are also in the center of tourists' attention. And the nature of Crimea is itself the main attraction of Alushta, which cannot be passed by indifferently.

When the guest asked what to visit in Alushta on his own, the native will immediately list several of the most important, in his opinion, objects. Lists may differ, but Aluston Fortress will be present in each of them. It is clear that the fortification, erected 1,500 years ago to protect the city, has been badly damaged over the centuries, but the surviving fragments and ruins are impressive.

For fantastic impressions, you need to go to the so-called Valley of Ghosts, this is a natural monument located in the vicinity of Alushta. It consists of rocks, rock debris, which in shape resemble people or animals. For more intense emotions, it is recommended to visit this place at dawn, when the fog is an additional decoration, or at dusk.

Another beautiful natural object located in the southern part of the city is the Castel rock. Many historians, based on the name of the hill, conclude that a castle was once located on it. Material witnesses in favor of this legend have not yet been identified, but beautiful views of the Crimean landscapes and Alushta open from the top.

City travel

In Alushta itself, you can also see the sights, including the architectural pearls of the resort, one of them is the House of the merchant Stakheev. Again, the name makes it clear who was the first owner of the house - Nikolai Stakheev, a famous gold miner. The guides report that "in combination" he was the nephew of the famous painter Ivan Shishkin, who enjoyed the location of a relative and was a frequent visitor to the house.

Unfortunately, the House of the merchant Stakheev is not a museum in the full sense of the word, and you cannot order a tour around it. On the other hand, the two-story mansion is now at the mercy of children, and the Center for Children's Creativity is located here. You can walk around the estate without a tour, admiring the beautiful landscaped park that stretches around the house. The green zone was also created at the request of Nikolai Stakheev. He was also a philanthropist, thanks to which a comfortable embankment appeared in Alushta, the name of the merchant can be remembered more than once with a kind word while relaxing at the resort.

If you are planning a vacation at this resort with children, then a visit to the Alushta Aquarium must be included in the "plan" of entertainment events. The aquarium has four themed rooms that showcase the inhabitants of the kingdom of Neptune, collected from all the oceans of the planet. In addition to causing fear and surprise sharks, piranhas, belugas, you can see what the Nile crocodiles look like. The terrarium located in the same building will introduce you to the terrible and beautiful creations of nature - reptiles and amphibians.

A walk through the countryside sights

In the vicinity of Alushta there are many beautiful places and natural objects, which can be reached independently or under the guidance of a guide. You can go, for example, to the waterfall Dzhur-Dzhur - "always babbling". The sounds of falling water do not subside even in the hottest summer, giving coolness and humidity.

The easiest way is to join the excursion in order to get to the waterfall without any problems and difficulties. But a walk without instructions from above will become more interesting, for this you need to take a minibus to the village with the "covered" name Generalskoe, then - by a rented car to the Khapkhalsky reserve. Although the last section can be traversed on foot, firstly, it saves money, and secondly, there are many beautiful landscapes along the way. The main thing is to check with the locals about which path you can walk to the waterfall.

The massif with the mysterious name Babugan Yayla is also on the list of places frequently visited by tourists. This mountain range is home to Roman-Kosh, the highest mountain in Crimea. Of course, a walk through these territories will be fraught with some difficulties, since the mountains are part of the Crimean nature reserve.
