The capital of the Brest region will delight guests with the opportunity to go shopping (for groceries you should go to the Central Market, and for fashionable purchases - on Sovetskaya Street), stand at the Landmark, visit the Old Lanterns Square (in addition to inspecting the lanterns, vacationers will be able to listen to old musical compositions), see the Trinity and Holy Cross temples.

Brest Fortress

On the territory of the memorial complex, visitors will find:

  • Bayonet Obelisk: The 104-meter obelisk is a symbol of the victory of Soviet troops over the Nazis.
  • Eternal flame: an honor watch is carried out near the torch with a flame (changing of the guard is carried out every 20 minutes), and nearby you can find a memorial site for the hero cities of the Soviet Union (the plates “hide” capsules containing earth imported from these cities).
  • Monument to soldiers-border guards (the composition depicts the defenders of the fortress, and next to it you can see a pillar with an engraved coat of arms of the USSR and an information plate).
  • Museum of the Defense of the Brest Fortress: examining its exhibits, located in 10 rooms, visitors will learn about the history of the appearance of the fortress and its defense. In addition, here they will be able to see cold arms and small arms of the 18-20th centuries (a special exhibition is organized). The museum also has rooms for temporary exhibitions.
  • Ruins of the White Palace (on the eve of World War II, the palace was equipped with a dining room, a club, food warehouses and other premises).

Monument to the 1000th anniversary of Brest

The 15-meter monument (bronze and granite was used during its construction) is crowned with the figure of an angel (defender of Brest) - it was erected 10 years before the significant date at the expense of the city authorities and donations from local residents. The structure acts as the personification of the city model, which is expressed through certain images (historical characters, generalized city dwellers). It is worth noting that the architectural ensemble is complemented by a high relief (depicting scenes from the history of Brest) and an Art Nouveau fence.

Holy Resurrection Cathedral

This large building of the city can simultaneously accommodate up to 5,000 people who come here for regularly held divine services. The cathedral is famous for its upper and lower churches; a bell tower with a 400-kilogram bell installed on it; the icon of the Bogolyubskaya Mother of God kept here; a museum (it was formed in honor of the victorious warriors over the fascist invaders); a Sunday school where children are spiritually enlightened; as well as an oak alley (it is broken near the cathedral).
