Christmas in Druskininkai will not greet you with a noisy fair, shining lights and loud music. People come to this resort mainly to improve their health or just take a break from the crazy whirlwind of big cities. Here, among the dunes and pines, on the high bank of the Nemunas, life is seen differently. And after a few days spent in these places, many problems will dissolve by themselves.

Čiurlionis was born and raised here, and in his fantastic paintings there is the charm of his native land, and in his music - the voice of the forests and waves of the Baltic. The monument, erected to him by grateful compatriots, is surprisingly dynamic, like his music, and mysterious, like his painting.

The lifetime monument to Donatas Banionis is also here. Favorite artist sat down on a bench with a book, and a crane cautiously approaches him. An unusually expressive scene, touching and symbolic.

The caring attitude of the people of Lithuania towards each person, towards nature, and towards their history is amazing.

Museums

The Echo of the Thicket Museum has a large collection of wood and amber items, and its park contains many sculptures of animals, mythical creatures and other wonders of the thicket.

In a private open-air museum in Grutas Park, monuments of the Soviet era are collected from all over Lithuania. Sculptures of Lenin, Stalin, Lithuanian communists, compositions on the theme of the socialist past are placed among the trees on 20 hectares. In the depths of the park there is a cafe, in its interior the symbols and attributes of the recent past are also used. There is also a small souvenir shop selling mugs with the inscription: "For the Motherland, for Stalin" and more. And along the perimeter, the park is wrapped in barbed wire. But admission is free.

There is also a museum of resistance and deportation. It has three permanent exhibitions: Link, Armed Resistance and Unarmed Resistance. Lithuania keeps all the evidence of its history.

Still worth a visit:

  • Chesnulis sculpture and recreation park
  • Čiurlionis House Museum
  • Jacques Lipschitz Museum
  • Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Scapular
  • Orthodox Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "All Who Sorrow"
  • City History Museum

Entertainment

A huge water park will hospitably open its doors to you. And there is so much more: swimming pools, including those with sea waves, a turbulent river, cascades, massage waterfalls, jacuzzi and much more. You can spend the whole day in it, you will not want to leave, and for the hungry and thirsty there is a restaurant, cafes and bars.

A winter amusement park has recently been opened, where you can go ice skating, skiing and snowboarding all year round.

And in the adventure park, hanging roads are laid between the crowns of trees. Here everyone will find a route according to strength and age. The most courageous will be able to fly in a bungee over the Neman.

And Christmas Druskininkai will give you the joyful feeling of a long-awaited guest and remind you that life itself is a great success.
