More than twenty national parks in Poland are very popular with both local residents and guests of the country. It is customary here to have an active rest, practice your favorite sports, observe representatives of the animal world, admire the magnificent landscapes and arrange family and friendly picnics.

The natural and landscape diversity of the country's territory allows for the existence of a huge number of plant and animal species, the rarest of which are successfully protected in the national parks of Poland:
- Belovezhskaya Pushcha on the border with Belarus is a large remnant of the relict forest of Europe, which appeared in prehistoric times. Park Belovezhskaya Pushcha is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
- Volinsky Park in the north-west of the country has a nursery for breeding bison on its territory. The local forests are dominated by pines, oaks and beeches. In Volinskoye, lakes of glacial origin are especially protected.
- The headquarters of Poland's Ojcowski National Park is located in the village of Ojców, 16 km north of Krakow. The park is distinguished by a special biological diversity: more than 4500 species of insects are found here.
In the lists of UNESCO
Several national parks in Poland have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO as especially valuable natural areas. In addition to Belovezhskaya Pushcha, the lists include parks Beshchadsky and Bory-Tucholsky, Kampinosky and Karkonosky, Tatransky and Slovinsky.
On vacation in the Tatras
The Tatra Mountains are a favorite vacation spot not only for Poles, but also for numerous foreign tourists. The Tatransky National Park, together with the one of the same name, forms a single specially protected area on the territory of border Slovakia.
Opened in 1954, Tatra Park today has the status of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its main attraction is Mount Rysy, the highest peak in Poland. Its height is almost 2.5 km.
Fans of outdoor activities can find many hiking trails, caving and mountaineering, rock climbing and equestrian facilities in the park. Three dozen mountain lakes are places for summer recreation and photo shoots, and the largest waterfall in the park, falling from a height of 70 meters, evokes the constant delight of every tourist.

To white fir
A small national park in Poland in the center of the więtokrzyskie mountain range is famous for its white fir. Trees of this species reach gigantic sizes in więtokrzyskie Park, and its main attraction is the 50-meter white fir, which is considered the tallest tree in the country.
Fans of architecture will be able to admire the Basilica of the Holy Trinity in an old Benedictine monastery and get acquainted with the interesting exposition of the Museum of Nature.
