Slovakia is a relatively small, but at the same time quite interesting country to visit. There is no sea here, but it is on its territory that excellent ski resorts are located. And if you like to feel the speed and frost on your cheeks, then a trip to Slovakia is exactly what you need.

Public transport

You can get around the cities using buses, trolleybuses and trams. If we compare the cost of tickets for intercity buses and trains, then traveling by buses turns out to be somewhat more expensive. But at the same time, the bus service connects a much larger number of cities. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices of the airport terminals or directly from the bus driver.

Certain discounts are available for students and young people. It should also be borne in mind that a weekend trip will cost less than a trip on weekdays.

Taxi

Taxis can be found in any city in the country. Each car is equipped with a meter, but since the country's cities are relatively small, taxis are not particularly popular.

Air transport

The country's national carrier is Sky Europe. There is only one route with regular flights in the country. This is a flight from Bratislava to Kosice. Flights are operated three times a day.

The cost of the flight is 40-60 euros. It depends on the workload of the flight, as well as the time of purchase of the ticket.

Railway transport

The main means of transportation preferred by both locals and guests is the railways. Trains run very often.

There are several categories of trains:

  • regional trains Osobni - moving very slowly, as they stop at all stations along the route;
  • fast trains are marked Rychlik and Express;
  • trains from the InterCity category run especially fast.

The main routes of the country: Bratislava - Kuta; Zilina - Kosice; Bratislava - Zilina; Bratislava - Sturovo. The country's railroad is part of the common European railroad. There is a direct connection between Slovakia and the following cities: Moscow; Kiev; Vein; Budapest; Warsaw; Bucharest; Prague.

Water transport

The Danube waters are used for the transport of goods and passengers.

Car rental

If you wish, you can rent a car. Requirements for drivers are standard: a driver's license (both Russian and international licenses are suitable); passport; credit card. Payment can also be accepted in cash, but you will be required to leave a credit card as a deposit. In addition to the rental amount, you will need to pay additional insurance against accident and theft. Amounts are charged daily.
