Turkey is probably the most popular tourist destination. And although many people have become boring even the very name of the country, everyone wants to come here at least once. In addition to the gentle sea and warm climate, there are also many unique ancient monuments. What is the real cost of living in Turkey for a simple tourist?

Accommodation

You can live in Turkey:

  • in a traditional hotel;
  • in a club hotel;
  • in a historic hotel;
  • at the boarding house;
  • in hotels without "stars";
  • in huts for trekkers;
  • in campsites.

Expensive hotels of the historical type will ask for $ 80 per night. Prices are much higher during the season.

If you go without a tour, you will have to look for an overnight stay on your own. Simple hotels rent rooms for $ 4-5 per person per night. You can stay at the boarding house for $ 10–20. In the so-called huts for trekkers, the night will cost about $ 10, but there are very spartan conditions. You can stay in the camp for $ 20-30 and this will include a tent and a parking lot.

There are many different hostels and hostels in the country. Prices in them depend on the location, but rarely exceed $ 20 per bed.

Nutrition

In most hotels the so-called “all-inclusive” system works, that is, the cost of meals is included in the payment for the room and you can eat as much as you like. But those tourists who travel to Turkey on their own without tour operators often cannot afford such a luxury.

There are a lot of various establishments in the country - from inexpensive to luxurious. Also, no one canceled supermarkets and oriental bazaars.

Lokantas restaurants often help out tourists. These are home-style restaurants where they cook simple food, and the average bill per person in such a place is unlikely to exceed $ 20.

There are a lot of restaurants in Turkey just for foreigners, so prices are deliberately overpriced there. To save money, you need, like in any other country, to look for establishments where locals eat. Expensive restaurants will be happy to offer their guests a lunch from $ 100. It is clear that haute cuisine or signature cuisine will cost much more.

Transport

Buses of two types run between the cities of the country: the first are comfortable, but the second are somewhat reminiscent of our usual minibuses. There are also municipal buses. Prices are about the same - up to $ 1.

It is better to go by train if the route is tourist and popular. Just getting from point A to point B will be very difficult, since you will have to make a lot of transfers.

You can rent a car for $ 50, you will also need to leave a deposit.
