Public transport tickets can be bought at ticket offices and vending machines located near the entrance to metro stations, in tobacco and newsstands.
One trip costs one and a half euros. In this case, the ticket can be used within an hour and a half from the moment of composting, regardless of the number of transfers, but at the same time, the metro is allowed to travel only once. Ten trips cost 13, 80 euros. A day pass costs 4, 50 euros.
Composting your public transport ticket is compulsory. Otherwise, you will have to pay a fine of EUR 100 with the ticket price. Be prepared for the fact that the controllers are incorruptible and it is impossible to negotiate with them.

Most of the metro is underground. Despite this, there are also land areas. The metro consists of four lines, each of which is marked with different colors: red (38 stations), green (35 stations), yellow (21 stations), purple. The total length of the lines exceeds 80 kilometers, making the metro the largest in all of Italy. The metro operates every day from 06.15 to 00.15.
Buses
All buses in Milan run on a schedule, which depends on the day of the week, the availability of a holiday, the period (summer and winter). Remember to get in through the front or back door, and out through the middle one. Buses can be compared to fixed-route taxis in Russia, so they stop only at the request of passengers.
Trams
Trams run in Milan, which consist of seventeen urban and two intercity lines. The length of the tram network is 120 kilometers. Eight types of trams run on the routes. Two days a year, December 25 and May 1, trams, like buses, operate on a reduced schedule, namely from seven in the morning to eight in the evening.
Transport in Milan is distinguished by a well-thought-out system and democracy, but if necessary, tourists can rent cars, mopeds, bicycles, noting the maximum convenience of movement.
