Compared to other European countries, prices in the Netherlands are relatively high (fresh trout costs 13-15 euros / 1 kg, pork tenderloin - 11-14 euros / 1 kg, and lunch in an inexpensive cafe - 13.5 euros).

Shopping and souvenirs

The ideal place for shopping is the Kalverstraat shopping street in Amsterdam: here you can shop in shoe stores, various boutiques, perfume and cosmetics stores. And for lower prices, it is advisable to go to Nieu-wenijk street, where the Hema department store is located.

You can buy various inexpensive souvenirs and bargain in plenty at flea markets (here you can buy books, crafts, paintings, interior items), which open on weekends in all cities in the Netherlands.

At the end of April (30th), you will be able to purchase goods in local stores with a 30% discount (on the Queen's birthday, it is allowed to sell goods without VAT).

As a souvenir of your vacation in the Netherlands, you should bring:

- items with the image of tulips or the bulb of this flower, wooden shoes, hemp clothes (T-shirts, dresses, suits), uniforms, sports equipment and other products with the symbols of the football club “Ajax” (a T-shirt can be purchased from 30 euros), jewelry;

- Dutch cheese, juniper vodka, chocolate.

In the Netherlands, you can buy souvenir Dutch shoes (klomps) from 10 euros, porcelain dishes - from 5-6 euros, souvenirs in the form of a mill - from 1 euro, wooden tulips - from 1 euro, Delft porcelain products - from 3 euros, products from marijuana - from 1.5 euros, Dutch cheese - about 25 euros / 1.5 kg.

Excursions

On a sightseeing tour of Amsterdam, you will stroll through Dam Square, the Royal Court and the Museum Quarter, visit the famous Rembrandt house and the Coster Diamond diamond factory.

This tour will cost you 35 euros.

Entertainment

In The Hague, it is worth visiting the Madurodam Park: this small “town” is Holland in miniature, with its own mayor - Queen Beatrix.

The entrance ticket costs about 15 euros.

Or you can visit the Keukenhof Tulip Park - here you can admire flowers painted in all colors of the rainbow, as well as unique flower arrangements.

You will be charged 22 euros for visiting the park.

Transport

To pay for travel by metro, bus or tram, you can buy a one-time ticket (it costs 2.5 euros) or an anonymous chip card (its price is 0.9 euros). Using this card to pay for the fare, you will be charged 0, 12-0, 13 euros / 1 km.

For the convenience of moving around Dutch cities, you can use a bicycle: rental will cost you 10 euros / day.

If you decide to use a taxi service, you should be prepared for fairly high prices: for boarding and the first 2 km of the run in Amsterdam, you will be charged 7.5 euros + 2.3 euros / each subsequent km. So, for a trip from the airport to the center of Amsterdam, you will have to pay at least 40 euros.

On vacation in the Netherlands, you will need at least 40 euros per day for 1 person (renting a dorm room, eating at cheap eateries, traveling by public transport). But in order to feel more or less comfortable on vacation in this country, you will need about 120 euros per person every day.
