By average European standards, prices in Romania are not high: they are higher than in Bulgaria, but lower than in Greece.
Shopping and souvenirs
In Bucharest, you can buy various products and goods of European quality at reasonable prices.
You will find many boutiques and shops on Piazza Unirii Street: here you should definitely go to the Unire department store (here you can buy both china, crystal and jewelry, as well as clothes, household appliances and sports goods).
By visiting the World Trade Center, you can buy clothes and footwear from both well-known Western brands and Romanian manufacturers (pay attention to shoes, bags, sheepskin coats from Romanian designers).
From Romania you should bring:
- porcelain and clay products (dishes), icons on glass, painted Easter eggs made of wood, plastic or other materials, Romanian embroidery (sweaters, blouses, scarves), souvenirs with the image of Count Dracula (paintings, key rings, figurines), carved wooden dolls in national costumes, products from Khorezm ceramics (plates, jugs, vases), bottles of different sizes with multi-colored pebbles or seeds, covered in layers;
- Romanian wines (Jidvei, Murfaltar, Cotnari), tincture "Tsuika", vodka "Palinka".
In Romania, you can buy porcelain lace products - from 1, 5-2, 5 euros for a small basket and from 15-20 euros - for a large vase, icons on glass - from 60 euros, products decorated with hand embroidery - for 70-100 euros, Romanian wines - for 5-15 euros / bottle, Romanian cosmetics - from 4-5 euros / jar.
Excursions
On a sightseeing tour of Bucharest, you will see the Arc de Triomphe, walk along Victory Boulevard, Unification and Revolution Squares, visit the Village Museum, walk through the halls of Parliament, visit the National Museum of Art and see the Senate building.
This excursion costs about 35 euros.
Entertainment
You should definitely visit Bran Castle (it is located 30 km from Brasov): you will visit the castle of Count Dracula, and you can also buy various souvenirs at the local market (located at the foot of the hill).
The entrance ticket will cost you 27 euros.
Transport
The fare for any public transport is 0, 3-0, 4 euros. You can buy a daily pass for 1, 8 euros.
To see the sights of Bucharest, you can get around the Romanian capital by sightseeing bus. The cost of a ticket valid for a day is 5, 7 euros (a child ticket costs 2, 3 euros).
When using a taxi service in Romania, be prepared to pay at least 0, 46 euros per kilometer. For example, a trip from the international airport to the center of Bucharest will cost you 13, 5-16 euros.
An economical vacation in Romania will cost you at least 25-30 euros per day for 1 person (renting a room in an inexpensive hostel, eating in cheap cafes and fast food establishments). But, in order not to limit yourself in many ways, you will need about 80-100 euros per day for 1 person.
