The second largest airport in Cyprus serves the city of Paphos. It is located about 7 kilometers from the city center. Obviously, this airport is of secondary importance and is used for travel to western Cyprus. The airport is most convenient for travel to Coral Bay, Limassol and Paphos.
Since 2006, Hermes Airports Limited has been responsible for the development of Larnaca Airport and Paphos Airport.
Paphos airport annually serves about 2.5 million passengers, while having only one runway with a length of 2,700 meters.
In 2012, Ryanair, the largest low-cost airline, opened its 50th hub at this airport. In the same year, 2 aircraft were deployed on the territory of the airport and 15 new directions were opened, along which about 80 flights a week were carried out.
Services
Paphos airport has only one passenger terminal. There are 28 check-in counters and 7 boarding gates. There are 22 parking areas for aircraft.
The range of services that are offered here does not differ in anything special. As elsewhere, there are cafes and restaurants that are always ready to feed hungry visitors.
There is also a spacious shopping area where you can find various goods.
For passengers with children, the Paphos airport offers a mother and child room. In addition, business class passengers can use the services of a waiting room with an increased level of comfort.
Other services include banks, a first-aid post, parking, car rental, etc.
It is also worth adding that the construction of a new road has begun, which will connect the airport with Paphos.
How to get there
The most popular transport is the bus. There are several routes from the airport to the city. Bus number 612 runs between the city and the terminal from 7 am to 1 am. It should be said that with such a schedule, the bus runs only during the resort time - April-November. Also, bus 613 departs from the airport twice a day.
In addition, tourists can always use taxi services, which will take passengers to Paphos for 30 euros. It should be added that most of the drivers speak Russian.
