But, nevertheless, the health care system in the country works in such a way that free medical services are provided to people living in poverty.
Going to the Dominican Republic, it is worth the fate that there is a great risk of contracting diseases that occur in temperate and tropical climates (malaria, yellow fever and Dengue fever, tetanus, hepatitis).
Traditions and customs of the inhabitants of the Dominican Republic
The inhabitants of the Dominican Republic are cheerful, open-minded, friendly, curious and extremely unhurried people (in the country it is not customary to refer to someone as “you”). Dominicans are hospitable, and in order not to offend them, you should not refuse an invitation to drink aromatic freshly ground coffee.
The Dominicans have a special love for the holidays - on the days of carnivals, they have fun from the heart, circling in fiery dances.
Going to the Dominican Republic?
- do not rent a car - if necessary, order a taxi or use public transport (this is due not only to the difficult traffic that will puzzle an experienced tourist driver, but also to the high risk of being beaten and robbed);
- it is advisable to use bottled water for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth;
- withdraw money from cards only at bank branches (it is better not to do this at street ATMs), and also do not use credit cards to pay for services in shops and cafes.
