Description of the attraction

Located 300 meters from the gate, behind which the road leading to the Kuang Si Falls begins, the butterfly park of the same name is worth a visit if you are traveling with children or just want to diversify your walk. Finding the Kuang Si Butterfly Park will be very easy, as the path to the private farm is marked with flags depicting giant butterflies.

The park, which is actually a research center that studies and publishes information about the butterflies of Laos, as well as local exotic plants, was opened in January 2014 by a married couple from the Netherlands - Ineke and Olaf. The cost of visiting the park includes a 15-minute excursion, during which the guide will answer tricky questions from visitors. For example, he will tell you how long butterflies live, why they are so bright, or why the water in the pools of Kuang Si Falls has such a blue-green hue.

Then the guests pass through the picturesque gardens to find themselves in a pavilion created from a fine mesh, where a variety of butterflies live. Here they drink nectar at special feeders and are not at all afraid of visitors. Big beauties with bright wings can sit on people and "pose" for the camera.

As a bonus, guests are offered a fish pedicure, when small fish eat dead skin particles on their feet. This procedure is carried out not in special baths, but right in the natural pool.

Butterfly Park offers excursions for schoolchildren. The park staff tell children about the beautiful and vulnerable nature of Laos, the importance of protecting and preserving it for future generations, and also provide children with educational materials.

There is a small cafe in the park that serves delicious coffee and toast.
