Description of the attraction

Coma Pedrosa is a picturesque mountain of the Pyrenees mountain system, which is located in the territory of La Massana in the northwestern part of the principality of Andorra.

The fact that the summit of Mount Coma Pedrosa reaches a height of 2,942 meters makes it the highest point of this small European country. The nearest settlement located under the mountain is the popular ski resort of Arinsal.

Not considered technically challenging, Mount Coma Pedrosa is accessible for hiking even for untrained skiers. But despite this, the ascent to the mountain is quite long, the total time of climbing the mountain is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. And since the difference in elevation ranges from 1580 to 2942 m above sea level, it still takes a lot of effort to climb to the top.

Traditionally, the beginning of the hiking trail is considered the Ribal waterfall, located at the southeastern foot of the mountain. The first kilometer of the mountain trail goes in the direction of the summit, and then turns left and goes to the southern slopes of Coma Pedrosa along the valley of the river of the same name, past Trout Lake. Further, the tourist route turns north, heading towards the picturesque Estani Negre Lake. Beyond the lake, the trail, turning northeast and following a rocky passage, leads to the peak of the mountain - the highest point in Andorra.

It should be noted that for people who are not ready for such a walking trip, there is an easier way to get to the top of Coma Pedrosa. To do this, you should use the services of the ski lift leading from Arinsal to the Negre Peak. But this path may not be so interesting, since it will not provide an opportunity to enjoy all the beauties of the picturesque mountain slopes and the surrounding nature.
