Description of the attraction

At the beginning of the last century, the great master Antoni Gaudi created another mesmerizing creation - Park Guell. The customer for the project was Eusebio Güell, who wanted to create an area that combines residential and garden areas, the so-called "garden city". The area of Park Guell is 17, 18 hectares, and its construction was carried out in several stages over 14 years - from 1901 to 1914. The site was located on a hillside, and therefore the park had to be equipped on several levels.

The territory of the future park was divided into many plots of land for the construction of mansions. But due to the remoteness from the city center, the plots were not in demand, and Guell managed to sell only 2 of them. Thus, what was originally intended by Guell - the creation of a populated mini-city, could not be fully implemented. According to the plan for the development of the park, it was supposed to build a market, a chapel, a theater, a building for a gatekeeper. Nevertheless, some part of the plan was implemented, and a fabulous landscape park of amazing beauty was created.

The most significant are two buildings at the entrance to the park - the gatekeeper's house and the administration building. These structures look more like gingerbread fairy houses, as if covered with glaze. The main staircase leads to the Hall of the Hundred Columns, which has amazing acoustics. On the lower level of the staircase, there is a fairy-tale character - a Dragon, made of mosaics. On the upper level of the park, there is the famous bench in the shape of a long fairytale snake, created by Gaudí in collaboration with Jusep Jujol and completely lined with fragments of mosaics that create incredible patterns. Walking alleys made of local stone amaze with their uniqueness.

Each structure built on the territory of the park is a whole architectural work, both stylistically and decoratively completed. Each building, each element is truly unique here. The ingenious architect managed to create a real architectural and landscape masterpiece, recognized as a work of world architectural art, which has no equal, and is unlikely to be.

On the territory of the park is the Gaudi House-Museum, where he lived from 1906 to 1926.

Park Guell Was in Park Guell in 2007. I am delighted! I had never seen anything like it before. Interesting and unusual Gaudi architecture. During his lifetime, he was called crazy and about his inclined columns they said that it would not hold. And now everyone admires Gaudí's creations. In this park you can walk a whole d …
